Ports of Auckland

Yesterday Room 11 had the opportunity to go to the Maritime musuem and do the Ports of Auckland tour. At the maritime musuem we were able to find out information about how people came to New Zealand - Maori, first european discoverers Abel Tasman and Captain Cook. We were able to see the boats as well. From there we went into the Sir Peter Blake room and were able to view the first America's Cup boat that New Zealand won the cup on. They also had a set up where we could grind, tack as well as navigate. The girls discovered how strong they had to be! From there we boarded our boat to go and view the different ports around Auckland.
It was a great day! The best thing is that the girls can go bck there whenever they want as both of these things are free fpr residents of Auckland!

  1. The trip was really cool and I learned that they keep a cat on the boat to scare away the rats and people get sick on the boats.

  2. What I enjoyed was the bus ride and the "tour" around the maritime museum, and my favorite parts of the day were when we had to imagine what it was like in the bed bunk rooms for reality, the ferry ride and riding it underneath the Harbor bridge and the best bit was gathering together as as class and smiling for the camera! Together we are a family. I had an awesome day, thank you Miss mules for taking us!

  3. The tour was amazing! My favourite part was going into the room where lots of families lived in and didn't have enough space for them or there kids!
